GOD'S ORIGINAL DIET
God's Original Diet was birthed in the Garden of Eden. The Word of God tells us that immediately after God created man, He placed His human creation in the Garden of Eden, and told Adam that his food was to be the raw fruits and vegetables growing in the Garden. And God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant (vegetables) on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food." (Genesis 1:29).
Oh what a majestic sight that must have been with God speaking to Adam in a beautiful Garden untouched by humanity surrounded by animals with love and care in the air.
And the next verse explains even more about God’s Original Diet…
“And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so. (Genesis 1:30)
So basically there are two classes contained within this food group for mankind:
1. Every tree yielding seed
(Examples: apples, avocados, grapefruit, pecans, papaya, cherries, olives, walnuts)
2. Every plant yielding seed
(Examples: tomatoes, beans, lentils, wheat, berries, squash, corn, rye)
But God did say, “But you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the Garden, and you must not touch it, or you will surely die.” (Genesis 3:3)
And this is where the awesome gift of choice came in to play. Eve had the choice to obey what her Creator commanded or to give in to the lies and deceit of the Serpent.
“When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.” (Genesis 3:6)
Sin caused a separation from God which ultimately prevented their bodies from living forever.
For the next 10 generations the life span was about 900 years.
From that time on it took over 12 generations before the life span of man was reduced to about 120 years.
It wasn’t until after the Flood of Noah’s time that God added meat to man’s diet…
“Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.” (Genesis 9:3)
So why don’t we live to the ripe age of 120 today?
Because we "cook" the life out of our food. We cook just about everything we eat, and we don't get enough nutrients into our bodies. You see, when we cook our food, we destroy its nutritional value, and it forces our bodies to work overtime to remove the toxic residue, which tires the body, causing us to become ill, and shortens our lives.
With cooked meat, cooked potatoes, cooked vegies and cooked bread (and of course a desert), we may feel full and satisfied, but in reality we have given our bodies practically no nutrition. And thus with a full belly we are slowly starving our healthy cells.
Without realizing it, we have defied God's original diet of raw food made by God, and changed it into a man-made, artificial, non-living, processed product we call "food." The difference between natural, raw foods verses cooked, processed foods is the very difference between life and death.
We must turn back to God and return back to the Garden where God first placed mankind so we can learn how to be properly nourished and live in health as God intended.
God said, "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." (Hosea 4:6)
For whatever reason, you are here... and I believe you were led by God. My prayer is that as you read on, the Holy Spirit will hold you accountable, and you will begin to make changes in your diet and live a healthy, long, prosperous life.
